This is really really cool. It's wonderfully cryptic, drew me in straight away! The way it ties the tarot style art into the gameplay is great.

I know the project might be in the rear view by now but thought I'd leave a question in case you ever revisit it! When the hand's being evaluated it shows "X card adds Y points Z times". Would it be possible to visualise that info during the deduction phase too? It usually goes by a bit too fast for me to catch!

Hey!

We do want to add at least one update to this that would feature a more transparent tutorial on how the game works so it could be a little bit more approachable (we added the hover tooltips not long ago as a start).

If you mean the part where the cards bounce, then I am not sure if that info should be available for deduction at all, I kept that “granular” scoring animation in so that the scoring phase would look more interesting but it wasn’t really meant to be something you need to rely on (hovering the rules on the side after scoring should be enough).

But I understand how it might be frustrating because it does contain some extra information you could use. I’ll see if it’s best to remove it altogether or make it inspectable!

Thanks!

Ah that makes sense!! as long as its not needed for the deduction I'm happy :D

Just to say it again, this game is very cool!

This looks absolutely gorgeous and intriguing - the card art is fantastic! It's too tall a task for me to understand what's going on, but if there's ever a version with an easier ramp up I'd love to revisit this lovely art and atmosphere - for example, if I could play some rounds with just a couple rules and a subset of cards that trigger those rules, to even understand what type of thing I'm looking for.

Well, this is...cryptic.

I think the main thing I want (other than "any idea what's going on") is a "click to continue" after scoring, so that I can look at the three cards, look at how they scored, and try to learn something, anything, about the system.  As it is, I'm going, "Oh, cool, +12 for circle-circle-diamond, by playing a--god, was it two green cards? I think a 3?"

Absolutely! We barely made the game functional for the submission deadline and will soon add improvements around inspecting the played hand in a paused state after it scores.

Thanks for trying it!

You can now inspect the rules as long as you want and see what cards scored for them (if any) by hovering over a rule on the left. The next round can be started manually.
